My sense is that Nestle has largely left them alone as regards the product quality. Not to be that guy, but since Blue Bottle is owned by Nestle I try to avoid them. They’re good, and certainly better than second wave (Starbucks, Peets, etc.), but IMO they’re not exactly unique from most other third wave coffee stores nowadays. Credit where credit is due though: third wave specialty coffee wouldn’t be where it is today without Blue Bottle.
